By 1999 Bob, plant hunter and breeder extraordinaire, was divorced and looking for a new wife. Derelie was happily ensconced in book publishing and not looking for a husband. But fate intervened and decided to introduce the pair at the Melbourne International Flower Show that year. A few months later Derelie left the world of books forever and took up residence in Paradise.
Daily life changed dramatically and two dogs, both presents from Bob, became an integral part of the household and her daily routine. As well, the garden began to visibly change, especially in the direction of roses, Derelie’s favourite flower.

Dr. Derelie Cherry, PhD (Univ. Sydney) Although she worked in publishing for twenty years, commissioning books by Australian authors such as Allan Seale, Sarah Guest and Simon Griffiths, Mary Moody and Clive Blazey, and gained a doctorate in history, all Derelie ever really wanted was two dogs and a garden. She never envisaged a husband in this picture – at least, not until she met Bob Cherry at the Melbourne International Flower Show in 1999. This book tells the story of her life since coming to live in Bob’s Paradise.
