In this book, Martin Deeley, a professional gundog trainer, explains how to refine and improve the skills of dog and handler up to the level of formal shoots and competitions. Building on his earlier book Working Gundogs, the author covers all areas of fieldwork – including picking up, beating, wildfowling, pigeon shooting and rough shooting. He goes on to explore in depth the training and skills needed for field trials and gundog tests.
Martin Deeley runs dog seminars for the Game Conservancy, judges gund0g competitions, and commentates at the International Game Fair. He is a regular contributor to Shooting Times.
