Auctions are a kind of business. People have something they want to sell and auction it to the person who offers the most. The others want to buy something and hope to make the deal. Usually everyday business.
Regarding business: the domain "business.com" has been auctioned for $7.5 million and therefore as the most expensive web address ever.
But not only are the superlatives like the highest price or having the most bidders the auction highlights. The real gems are, inconspicuously at first, among the totally normal auctions. Bizarre, funny, astonishing, unexpected, shocking-just: amazing!

Martin Joachim is a freelance journalist and photographer. After he had finished university he started as a journalist and press officer at an economic firm and was teaching at a College for Communications for many years. He does journalistic projects for national and international editorial departments.
