About Peribo

At Peribo that’s the way we think about books.  A great book is with you for life, whether it’s on your bookshelf, on your coffee table or in your heart…… Books for Life is what we believe.  Books enrich us, books entertain us and books inform our life experience.

Peribo was founded in 1987 out of a desire to offer an exclusive high-quality range of international publications to booksellers in Australia and New Zealand.  From that day to this, Peribo has focused on the importance of knowing the publishing world, knowing our customers and distributing a wide range of interesting and useful titles to enhance the range of books available in bookshops and specialist retailers throughout Australia and New Zealand

Over the years Peribo expanded the range of publishers represented to include many leading international independent publishers of illustrated books, classic and contemporary fiction, popular culture and a wide range of non-fiction.  Our range of art, architecture, fashion, interior design and graphic design books includes many of the most desirable high-quality publications available in the world today.

Sales, marketing and distribution expertise are at the heart of Peribo - whether launching a new publisher or growing our existing publishers, we look for the very best sales opportunities for every book.  Right place.  Right time.  Right book.

“I’ve always been in the right place and time.  Of course, I steered myself there.”

                                                                                                                                         Bob Hope

What We Do

Booksellers and publishers demand fast, efficient and affordable services from book distributors.  Peribo co-ordinates all the necessary sales and distribution functions through our Mt. Kuring-gai head office and warehouse operations and through our sales team (see Contact Us for sales team details or click here).

With such a diverse range of books in our stable, there are always customer enquiries (our website and Title Page provide most of the answers) and our team of customer service representatives and sales representatives are never more than a phone call, email or fax away.

Our sales representatives schedule regular face-to-face sales meetings with book trade, gift trade and specialty retailers - including bookshops, bookselling chain stores, department stores, wholesalers, library suppliers, gift shops and specialist retailers – to discuss new releases, re-issued titles and special offers.

Books are our life.  We understand the publishing process from manuscript to bookshelf.  The importance of coordination between publisher, distributor and bookseller in achieving successful sales and marketing outcomes has never been more important.  Each year we attend the major international Book Fairs in London, Frankfurt and New York with the specific purpose of observing the latest industry trends and liaising with our distributed publishers.  We take advantage of many excellent advertising opportunities offered by seasonal bookseller promotional catalogues.  Since 2005 we have exhibited a select range of luxury and gift titles at all the major Gift Fairs in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.  We continually liaise with the media, with individual booksellers and with the major literary festivals in Australia and New Zealand to create premium promotional opportunities for our authors.

Selling books is an evolving process with so many new and exiting possibilities existing for the ‘right’ book.  We invite publishers to look at our range and see what we can do for you.
